Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party results provider. Waco Residents Directory does not retain a copy of that search on its own servers. When a visitor writes to us, we receive the contents of the message and use them to answer the inquiry.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most hosted services, the site records ordinary technical logs such as an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and time of visit. We review those records in aggregate for site operation and page-use patterns. Cookies or comparable tools may be used for basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
The limited data supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and content improvements. We do not sell lists of visitors or create profiles of individual readers.
External Websites and Portals
Links lead to McLennan County and Texas portals, Waco library or archive collections, and third-party search tools. The receiving site's own privacy terms control information entered there. That includes sponsored results supplied by an outside provider.
Parties That May Process Data
Hosting and support vendors process technical logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Security Practices
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because there are no accounts, the site does not maintain a visitor password or profile that could be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and does not target children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a visitor under 18. If you believe a minor sent information to us, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing of personal data held by a covered business. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, HB 4, took effect July 1, 2024 and gives qualifying consumers rights concerning covered business data practices. Because this site keeps very little, we can review the contact mailbox and relevant logs and remove what we locate. Send a request through the Contact page. Texas public records are different: the Texas Public Information Act, Tex. Gov't Code ch. 552, including §§552.021, .221, .234, and .261-.274, governs requests to the proper governmental body. A privacy request does not remove a County Clerk record, and §552.115 separately controls when vital records become public.
Policy Updates
A revised policy will appear on this page. Continued use after posting means the visitor accepts the revised terms.
